YS BLADES were created in response to a request from top-level skaters training for quadruple jumps: “We need blades that won’t break or lose their shape.” That challenge was taken on by YAMAICHI SPECIAL STEEL, a Japanese company specializing in high-performance steel materials and precision 3D measurement. With access to a wide range of advanced industrial steels, they carefully selected the material most suitable for figure skating.

Each blade is milled from a single solid steel block—with no welds or joints—using micron-level precision. Out of a 10,000g steel block, only about 280g becomes the final blade, minimizing weak points and maximizing strength. This seamless, precision-milled construction ensures the blade is exceptionally warp-resistant and highly resistant to deformation, even under the intense pressure of high-level jumps.
