Now that the time has come when both male and female figure skaters perform quadruple jumps. YS BLADES has been developed and produced by our desire to support every skater to achieve their highest performance, practice and continue to perform more safely which will lead to their best performance results, based on the feedback from the world class top skaters.
The greatest features are our metalworking craftsmanship and know-how which have been applied to every process from selecting the material, machining to finishing.
Unlike the existing blades which have welded joints, we use our unique manufacturing method to mill out the whole blade from only one single material, which leads to reduce any damages due to deviation of the welded joints, lack of strength and also the physical burdens on the skaters down to as close as zero.
We offer all skaters this one-of-a-kind blade which is particular about even the gliding sound that reverberates on the ice rink. This new standard opens the beginning of a new era.

YS BLADES is a “MADE IN JAPAN” figure skating blade produced by Yamaichi Special Steel which has been trading special steel since 1927. Lightweight yet excellent strength has been achieved with our unique manufacturing technology that cuts off only 3% (approx. 280g) out of special steel (approx. 10kg)

Unified Quality of Blades Recreates the Same Skating Feel
Just a slight change of blades could have a significant impact on skaters’ performance. We produce to deliver YS BLADES, a high-quality blade using our precision parts manufacturing technology and manufacturing control know-how at several tens of microns level. Skaters can feel “right fitted as usual” immediately after replacement of the blades.

‘SYO’ has been developed and designed to facilitate quadruple jumps and stable landings.
It features R2,100mm Rocker Curve as well as the overall structure with an emphasis on stability.
The runway distance per stride is long and thus it can resolve an issue of slowing down between jumps.
